Pans with metal handles…Do they burn your hand?
I am wishing to buy a new set of saucepans. I have noticed that a lot of very nice and expensive saucepans have metal handles. See this link for example:

I was under the impression that metal is an excellent conductor of heat….so wouldn’t saucepans like these burn your hands when you touch the handle?
I don’t want to waste my money on something which is not practical.

Yes, someone bought my mum a set of saucepans with metal handles. You have to use a teatowel round them when you pick them up as they get extremely hot. If you touch them quickly by mistake you’re usually OK but yes they could burn you if you held them for any length of time. It’s worse when you’re using two or three together on a hob because the handles usually end up near where the other pans are and you can’t stop them getting hot, but if you have the space to push the handles away from the hob area then they don’t get quite as hot. I wouldn’t recommend them however nice they look.
